Therooftop lounge, located along Michigan Avenue within the Chicago Athletic Association, is known for its undisturbed views of Millenium Park and the Chicago Harbor. 

SafeHouse– 60 E Ontario St- When you step inside this bar, you enter the secret world of a spy. Your mission begins when you pass the ultimate test of locating the red door. From there, you can enjoy hearty meals, signature-themed cocktails, and even more covert operations.

The Signature Room– 875 N Michigan Ave- Located on the 95th floor of the John Hancock building, this upscale lounge boasts sweeping views of the city and water, along with top-notch libations. Stop by as the sun’s going down or grab a night-cap accompanied by the lit-up downtown Chicago in your peripherals.

Three Dots and a Dash– 435 N Clark St- This speakeasy tiki-bar, tucked away in an alley, is hard to compare to any other Chicago bar. With over 200 rums, luau bites, and Polynesian decor, this funky slice of paradise will have you forgetting you’re still in the Midwest. 

Bub City– 435 N Clark St- This vibrant spot operates as a barbeque restaurant by day, and honky-tonk by night. Spend your evening sipping on some whiskey and jamming to live country tunes. Take advantage of the daily drink and food specials from 3 to 6 pm. 

Offshore– 100 E Grand Ave- As the nation’s largest rooftop venue, Navy Pier’s brand new rooftop bar is sure to make your jaw drop. Soak up the panoramic views of Lake Michigan and the city skyline with a drink in hand and a chef-driven Californian cuisine on your plate.

The South Loop Coffee Shops You Must Try

Who has the best coffee in the South Loop neighborhood?

Cafe Press Chicago– 800 S Clark St- Located in the heart of the historic Printer’s Row, this charming coffee shop offers excellent brews and cozy vibes. The french toast muffin is a must-try! Students can bring in their ID to receive 10 percent off their order.

HERO Coffee Bar– 439 S Dearborn St- While there are multiple Hero Coffee Bars throughout Chicago, the South Loop location has become Insta famous thanks to its adorable lit-up entry. Apart from the appealing aesthetics, this shop also boasts highly praised pour-over java drinks & farm-to-table sandwiches.

Dollop Coffee Co– 801 S Financial Pl- This bright and airy space makes the perfect setting to sip on a cup of joe and munch on some baked goods. The honey cinnamon latte is a local favorite!

Cafecito– 7 N Wells St- For an authentic Cuban experience, stop by this warm cafe. Not only do they serve the best Cuban sandwich in the Windy City, but their Cuban espresso is also out of this world.

Stan’s Donuts and Coffee– 26 E Roosevelt Rd- What’s a better morning combo than gourmet donuts and warm coffee? Whether you stick with a traditional old-fashioned glazed donut or you’re feeling adventurous with the highly-acclaimed lemon pistachio donut, these homemade pastries will not disappoint.

Bridgeport- 150 Roosevelt Rd- Located at Roosevelt Connection, this modern coffee shop prides itself on organic and fair-trade products, as well as some of the finest globally produced beans to ensure delicious brews. When the weather warms up, be sure to grab a seat on the spacious outdoor patio.

Intelligentsia– 53 W Jackson Blvd- Step inside this intimate Italian-style espresso bar, located within the Modanock building, and enjoy a fresh brew. If you need a little snack, be sure to try one of the house-made pastries!

Goddess and the Baker– 33 S Wabash Ave- This adorable cafe is the perfect meet-up spot. While all of the baked goods will have your taste buds in heaven, the rainbow cake is their signature treat. Also, be sure to look into their fun, ever-changing drink specials.

The Best Places for Wicker Park Nightlife

The Wicker Park neighborhood comes alive in the evenings.

Nick’s Beer Garden– This chill neighborhood joint makes for the perfect spot if you’re looking for a laidback  evening with friends. Subterranean– Spend your weekend immersed in some live music at this intimate entertainment venue. You can find local and touring artists performing on a weekly basis.

Marine Layer– 1646 N Damen Ave- This cozy shop sells equally comfortable clothes designed in San Francisco. Each unique item is made of Pima cotton and recycled beechwood from NorCal, hand-sewn by two sweet ladies, Xiao Ling and Fei.
